SB 1735 (2025): Appropriated $100,000 to establish an advisory committee on maternal mental health technical assistance.

HB 2332 (2025): Required the Department of Health to compile and maintain up-to-date educational materials on maternal mental health conditions, including symptoms, coping methods, and treatment options. It mandates that health care institutions and professionals provide these materials to patients during prenatal care, upon the onset of pregnancy, and to new parents upon discharge. 

Directs the Department of Health Services to establish an advisory committee on obstetrics, gynecology, and maternal mental health in rural communities. The committee, comprised of diverse healthcare professionals and hospital representatives, is tasked with developing recommendations to enhance the delivery of and access to evidenced-based postpartum depression screening and referrals for treatments. These recommendations must evaluate public and private insurance coverage, provider reimbursement incentives, and pharmacological treatment options. The committee must submit its findings and recommendations to the Governor and Legislature by December 31, 2026.

SB 1011 (2021): Required the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) the State Medicaid Agency, to form a maternal mental health advisory committee to recommend improvements for screening and treating maternal mental health disorders. 

The advisory committee issued its report to the legislature in December 2022.

SB 1392 (2020): Allocated $13 million to the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) to extend Sixth Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (SOBRA) benefits for a year postpartum.

HR 2038 (2018): Proclamation declaring May 2, 2018, Maternal Mental Health Day in Arizona. The proclamation was unanimously signed by House members.
